A new week, a new month, a new moon, and a new chapter for me. I am leaving South Wedge Planning Committee as of September 1st. I've been here for eight years and am grateful for all of the opportunities and dedicated people in this field and neighborhood with whom I've worked.

I'm being called to go back to my creative work, though, and now is the time. I'll also be moving to Ohio to be closer to my family again. Looking forward to ramping up my business, ArtSoulWine, as well as other pursuits.

I’ve had to learn this the hard way, and it’s been especially vital over these past few months.

Your mind and body have to rest. I was meditating recently (at least trying to,) as thoughts were jumping from here to there while I tried to envision a blank screen. A clear message came through from somewhere: “Stop. Your. Mind.” Stop, just stop. I get so muddled with so much on my plate that I don’t even know where to begin sometimes. On days where I’m in pain and foggy it’s even more difficult to concentrate.

That’s why rest is important. The body needs to heal, and the world moves so fast. Quiet the body. Relax every muscle. Listen to whatever calms you. Stop. Your. Mind. Just breathe…

Take some time out for yourself this week, and have a safe and happy holiday.
